Only dried in sunlight.
Deusa, which means Goddess in Portuguese intends to remind us of the power, magic and beauty of nature. Therefore, may pieces by DEUSA GOLD let you feel this spirit - by wearing our precious jewellery & accessories or by enjoying our home decor.
Always free shipping in Switzerland.
We believe nature provides us with the most precious gifts. Just waiting to be discovered and appreciated by the conscious customer. That's why we spread the word about the beauty and heritage of pieces made of Capim dourado.
We give back. One of our fundamental believes - besides paying a fair price to the talented Craftwomen - is GIVING BACK. After carefull evaluation we choose two project, we support financially:
We donate 10% of our profits to:
'Arquitetura na periferia', a brazilian, women-owned organisation of Arquitects that builds and constructs houses in the poorest areas of Brazil. The aim is not only to build a save home for and with single mums with their kids, but also to empower these women to belive in their strength and ability.
The second project we donate to is to be released soon… :)
Bejo e abraço da DEUSA GOLD!
During brazilian spring, which starts in September, is the sole harvesting time of Capim Dourado aka Golden Grass. The artists itself, experienced Craftmen /-women of a couple of villages in the State of Tocantins in Brazil will go out to the fields and harvest a restricted amount of the golden plant. But, before they go, they need an offical state permittion: only artists with such are allowed to to harvesting.
Harvesting is done by hands only. That's why it takes quite some time and effort. The golden Grass plant is normally hidden between regular grass, so you first need to find it. For 1 KG of Golden Grass, one person needs more than five hours of collecting. Not easy, right?
The flower top of the straw is cut off and left on the fields. That, combined with the strictly limited harvesting amount regulated by official authorities, provides a sustainable harvesting season for every year to come.
